ALOR SETAR – A total of 52 participants sponsored under the Skills and Career Training Program (PLKK) by the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) received their course completion certificates in a ceremony held yesterday at Hotel Seri Malaysia Alor Setar.
The certificate presentation ceremony was officiated by KEDA Deputy General Manager (Operations), Encik Khairul Azmeer bin Abu Bakar, accompanied by KEDA Community Development Manager, Mohd Azam bin Omar, who is also carrying out the duties of KEDA Deputy General Manager (Management).
According to him, KEDA allocated RM146,000 to finance the participation of the 52 PLKK trainees, covering three different skills training courses.
Among those celebrated were participants of the Mobile Phone Repair Course (Basic to Semi-Advance) involving 16 participants, with an allocation of RM48,000.
In addition, the Facial Treatment and Entrepreneurship Skills Course (Mobile Facial Spa) involved 20 participants with an allocation of RM50,000.
Meanwhile, the Culinary and Waiter Service Course involved 16 participants with a total allocation of RM48,000.
The PLKK program is one of KEDA’s key initiatives in empowering the rural workforce through skills enhancement and improved employability, in line with the government’s objective to expand participation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The ceremony concluded with an Iftar gathering together with the participants and invited guests.
