KUALA MUDA – The Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) has distributed economic assistance totalling RM83,000 to eight (8) participants through the Income Enhancement Programme (PPP) and the Rural Farmers Agricultural Project (PPLB).

The assistance was presented by KEDA Chairman, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Diraja Mahdzir bin Khalid, during the Opening Ceremony of the KEDA Tepi Sungai Rural SME Workshop, Economic Assistance Handover and Land Title Grant Handover Ceremony held at Desa KEDA Tepi Sungai, Kuala Muda.

Also present were KEDA Deputy General Manager (Operations), Mr Mohd Azam bin Omar, and KEDA Community Development Manager, Mr Sulaiman bin Mohd Noor.

KEDA provides various forms of economic assistance to help increase the income and improve the living standards of rural communities. These initiatives are implemented through PPP and PPLB, supported by appropriate guidance to help participants develop their economic and agricultural activities in a more sustainable and viable manner.

The assistance is expected to help participants expand their respective activities, establish more sustainable sources of income and improve their families’ economic well-being.

ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) organised the KEDA Fun Run 2026 in conjunction with National Sports Day 2026 as part of its efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the spirit of sportsmanship among its employees.

The programme was officiated by KEDA General Manager, YBhg. Puan Hajah Afifah binti Haji Omar. Also participating in the run were KEDA Deputy General Manager (Management), Mr Khairul Azmeer bin Abu Bakar, and Deputy General Manager (Operations), Mr Mohd Azam bin Omar.

The seven-kilometre run started and finished at the KEDA Headquarters Complex, with employees taking part in a lively atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

KEDA Fun Run 2026 featured four (4) main categories: Men’s Veterans, Men’s Open, Women’s Veterans and Women’s Open.

In the Men’s Veterans category, first place was won by KEDA Community Development Manager, Mr Sulaiman bin Mohd Noor, followed by Zone 9 Development Officer, Mr Muhammad Noorhisham bin Taib, in second place, and KEDA College Director, Mr Che Ridzuan bin Mohamad Isa, in third place.

In the Men’s Open category, Muhammad Sayuti bin Mohd Lazim emerged as the champion, followed by Haris Hazwan bin Anuar in second place and Muhammad Haikal bin Fazuli in third place.

For the Women’s Veterans category, Nor Asmida binti Hassan claimed first place, followed by Noor Amira binti Ahmad Sukkri in second place and Siti Nurhafiza binti Radzuan in third place.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Open category was won by Siti Faridah binti Ismail, followed by Noor Hidayah binti Abdullah in second place and Faliyatun Atiqah binti Nordin in third place.

The organisation of KEDA Fun Run 2026 is expected to further enliven National Sports Day celebrations while providing a platform to strengthen relationships and enhance the well-being of KEDA employees through physical activities and a healthy lifestyle.

ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and human capital development through the organisation of the KEDA Rural Sports Championship (KeSUDA) 2026.

KeSUDA 2026 serves as an annual sporting platform that not only aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among the community but also acts as a platform for fostering unity among rural communities under KEDA.

This year’s championship involved an estimated total expenditure of RM80,000.00. Through its main events, namely futsal and netball, the championship successfully brought together youth representatives and sports enthusiasts from nine (9) KEDA zones across the state of Kedah.

In recognition of the participants’ sporting spirit and achievements, the organisers provided cash prizes, accompanying trophies, medals and hampers. The champion received RM1,200.00 in cash, while the runner-up received RM1,000.00. The third-place winner took home RM800.00. Consolation prize recipients received RM200.00 in cash along with hampers.

In the championship results, Zone 2, Padang Terap, emerged as the champion in the futsal event, while Zone 5, Baling, claimed the championship title in the netball event.

The organisation of KeSUDA 2026 reflects KEDA’s continued commitment to strengthening human capital development, fostering sportsmanship and strengthening ties between KEDA’s leadership and rural communities.
