KEDA EMPOWERS ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH HALAL CERTIFICATION APPLICATION COURSE

KEDA EMPOWERS ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH HALAL CERTIFICATION APPLICATION COURSE

ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) continues to demonstrate its commitment towards enhancing the quality and competitiveness of local entrepreneurs’ products through the organisation of a Halal Certification Application Procedure Course for its guided entrepreneurs.

This high-impact programme was officiated by KEDA Deputy General Manager (Operations), Encik Khairul Azmeer bin Abu Bakar, who expressed the full support of KEDA’s top management in ensuring that KEDA entrepreneurs are able to penetrate wider markets with recognised halal certification assurance.

The two-day course focused on providing comprehensive exposure regarding the procedures and technical requirements involved in obtaining Malaysian halal certification.

Among the key modules were step-by-step guidance on the use of the MyEHalal system, explanations on application requirements and criteria, guidance on internal halal control system management, as well as simulations for field audit preparations.

Participants were also exposed to best practices in ensuring that premises and production processes comply with standards set by the religious authorities, thereby increasing consumer confidence in the products produced.

The guidance sessions were conducted by experienced speakers from the Compliance Audit Unit and Certification Unit of the Kedah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAIK), including Syeikh Ahmad Shukri bin Mohamed and Encik Zulhisyam bin Zainol, who shared their expertise and practical guidance with participants.

Through the organisation of this course, KEDA hopes that more entrepreneurs under its guidance will obtain valid halal certification, thereby strengthening the marketability of their products at both national and international levels while contributing towards sustainable rural economic development.
